There is a growing consciousness all over the world about
Ayurveda and an increasing wish to know more about this most
ancient system of medicine from India. Developed from the
Vedas (India's ancient books of wisdom), Ayurveda combines
physical, psychological and spiritual therapies. It considers
that ailments affect the whole person and emphasizes prevention
of diseases to avoid the need for cure.
Since time immemorial, the great trade routes between India
and Western worlds have been instrumental to a large extent,
for the spreading of Indian therapies and pharmcopoeias. Today,
Ayurveda is an object of study for scientists around the world,
and already found in many medical formulas. It has been serving
as a reservoir of indigenous techniques and methodologies
for the modern medicine.
