STUDY ABROAD INDIA - CLASSES
|
| |
|
| |
You
can decide on two subjects of your choice from our list of arts. |
| |
For
the first subject, you will have classes for a minimum of two hours
a day and for the second subject, a minimum of one hour a day. |
| |
You
can begin your lessons on the next working day of your arrival. |
| |
The
first lesson starts by your offering of a "dakshina" (a traditional
gesture of respect and commitment to the Art and the teacher, placing
a betel leaf, an aracanut and a one rupee coin in the hands of the
Teacher) |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
| |
 |
If you
find any difficulty with one subject, you can change and try another.
|
| |
 |
The
lessons are only from Mondays to Fridays. |
| |
 |
Your
lessons in one subject can take place in a single session or in two
separate sessions. |
| |
 |
You
will have Yoga sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and
Martial art - Kalarippayatt, lessons in the evenings, Monday - Friday.
|
| |
|
The
lessons are always individual and hence intense. The exceptions are
the Wood Carving, the Mural Painting, the Hatha Yoga and the Martial
art in which other students might join in. There, the experiences
of others might be stimulating. |
| |
|
However,
if you arrive on the same day as someone who wishes to study the same
subject, you might share the same class, if the teacher is very busy
ot if the schedule for your other subject cannot be adjusted |
| |
|
But
in no case, will we put more than three or four students in the same
session, to give the personal touch. |
| |
 |
Classes
are based upon a time-table which is prepared for every day. |
| |
|
Most
of the classes takes place in the school building, but there are one
or two class rooms in most of our houses |
| |
 |
Vijnana
Kala Vedi will give you merit certificates. |
| |
|
|
| |
Library;
Our library contains English, French and Malayalam books on a range
of subjects from arts and music to Ayurveda and Sanskrit. There are
also video cassettes on various dances |
| |
|
| Note:
|
Classes
are usually from 9am to 5pm. |
| |
We
always try our best to keep up this schedule, but due to unavoidable
circumstances, classes might begin earlier or continue later |
| |
For
reasons beyond our control (a public strike or an emergency leave
for the teacher and his assistant), if a particular session does not
happen or is not completed, then it will be made up in the next session
or on the next day. |
| |
We
may even give a special class on Saturdays or Sundays (only as a last
resort) to compensate for a day lost. |
| |
However,
if a student fails to turn up for a session, that will be treated
as 'student absent' and no special class will be given. |
